Italian Immersion

What could be more fun than an Italian immersion program? Several weeks of life in Italy will certainly provide you with tons of Italian, at the very least, but it might heighten your senses and revive your enjoyment of life in general. All of Italy is beautiful, if not also rustic, artistic, pastoral, and a few other desirable qualities. You can't go wrong in choosing any Italian location for your immersion program.

One warning: Don't believe claims of "Instant Immersion Italian". There is nothing instantaneous about language acquisition. Some programs may be better at instilling language skills than others, but never in an instant. A beginner can only hope to get a good head start in a week or two, and a month isn't enough to provide fluency, inventiveness, or serious insight into the character of the Italian-speaking population.

Another warning: "Immersion" classes that aren't in Italy may try to isolate you in an Italian-only bubble, but the opportunities to cheat are many. If you really want to learn Italy, go to Italy.
