Learn Chinese Mandarin

Are you interested in learning Chinese? Among those who learn Chinese, Mandarin is the dialect of choice. The economy of Mainland China is booming, its markets are increasingly open to foreign business interests, and the People's Republic is reaching out to the world. One billion people speak Mandarin Chinese. There are many good reasons to learn Mandarin.

That won't make it easy.

You can begin with a recorded course, such as those offered by Rosetta Stone (RosettaStone.com) and Pimsleur (PimsleurDirect.com or Cheappimsleur.com). Or you can enroll in a Mandarin course at the local community college or university. (If the course catalog doesn't specify if the class is in Mandarin or Cantonese, it's probably Mandarin.) Or you can travel to China and participate in an immersion course. All of these options are discussed elsewhere on this site.
